Some engagement sessions perfectly reflect a couple's personality, and Courtney and Giuseppe's session was exactly that.

As a Southern California wedding and engagement photographer, I love when couples bring meaningful elements into their photos, and when Courtney asked if we could incorporate Giuseppe's motorcycle into their engagement session, my answer was an immediate yes. Personal touches like these help create images that feel authentic and uniquely theirs.

Courtney originally found me through several of her hair clients. A reminder of just how connected our community can be. From the moment we met, it was clear these two shared an incredible connection, even though they insisted they were "awkward" in front of the camera. Like many couples, they arrived feeling a little nervous, but within minutes they were laughing, exploring, and simply enjoying the experience together.

We were fortunate to have one of those perfect California winter days, with clear skies, beautiful light, and ideal weather for an adventurous engagement session. The motorcycle added a fun and stylish element to the shoot, creating opportunities for portraits that felt both romantic and effortlessly cool.

Of course, no adventure is complete without a memorable story. At one point during the session, we had a brief encounter with local law enforcement after Giuseppe moved his motorcycle without wearing his helmet, in an effort to preserve his perfectly styled hair. Thankfully, the situation ended with nothing more than a friendly warning, and a story that still makes us laugh to this day.

Sessions like this are exactly why I love being an adventurous engagement photographer. The best engagement photos aren't just about beautiful locations. They're about documenting genuine moments, meaningful details, and the unique experiences that make every couple's story their own.
